My name is Mary O'Neill and I have been offering counselling and psychotherapy in Edinburgh for the past three years. I am committed to providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental counselling environment where you can explore the issues that are impacting your life.

You may have had to readjust to circumstances beyond your control; a bereavement, the loss of a close relationship or a redundancy.

Sometimes we have to face loss and change in our lives and we need to search within for the emotional resources to get through our difficulties. I believe that people have great resilience but perhaps when we face difficulties it might help to have some professional support. Counselling can offer that support and it is my role as a counsellor to provide a safe and accepting environment for you to explore and challenge the issues that are affecting you.

Too often we are bound by self limiting beliefs or destructive behaviours which leave us feeling bad about ourselves and others. By changing those beliefs we can change our behaviour and develop a more positive sense of ourselves and improve our relationships with others.

I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. My approach uses the concepts of transactional analysis (TA)

My practice is within easy reach of the centre of Edinburgh on Lothian Road and in the Causewayside area which is easily accessible by the buses that pass through Newington.

I offer a free intial interview where we can meet to assess your needs and to agree a possible counselling contract.
